Ravencoin All-Time High and Low

RVN peaked at about $0.2852 on February 20, 2021, when the whole crypto market was booming. A long decline followed. The coin then sank to a record low of about $0.0020 on September 16, 2026, weeks after a major network attack.

Moves this large are common with small-cap coins. We encourage you to size every trade with that in mind.

Why Is the Ravencoin Price Moving? Latest News

Two 2026 events explain most of the recent action: the January halving, which halved new supply, and the August network attack, which shook trust in the chain.

The August 2026 Network Exploit

On August 7, 2026, someone exploited a flaw in the network’s consensus rules. Vulnerable nodes started accepting invalid blocks at height 4,487,776. The project confirmed the problem publicly on August 10.

In response, the 2Miners and RavenMiner pools began mining a replacement chain from block 4,487,775. The goal was to wipe out the bad blocks. The catch? Roughly three days of transactions were at risk of being reversed. To protect their users, Upbit and Bitget froze RVN deposits and withdrawals. The sell-off that followed pushed RVN to new lows.

Our advice: check your exchange’s RVN transfer status before moving any coins.

The January 2026 Halving

January 2026 brought the network’s second halving. Miners now earn 1,250 RVN per block, down from 2,500. That means fresh coins reach the market half as fast as before. We think this supply shift is worth knowing, but it does not promise any price change.

What Is Ravencoin (RVN)?

Ravencoin (RVN) is a proof-of-work blockchain with one clear focus: letting you issue and transfer digital assets.

Those assets could be tokens, collectibles, in-game items, or records linked to physical goods.

The project began as a Bitcoin fork and went live in early 2018. Nobody got a head start. The team skipped a premine, an ICO, and masternodes so that anyone could mine RVN from the very first block.

Bruce Fenton, Tron Black, and Joel Weight were key early contributors. Medici Ventures, then an Overstock subsidiary, also invested early. Today, a community of volunteer developers maintains the code. No single company is in charge.

What Makes Ravencoin Different?

We see three features that make RVN stand out for you:

  • Built-in assets. You can create tokens directly on the main chain, with no need for the complex smart contracts used on Ethereum.
  • Fast blocks. A new block arrives about once a minute, compared with roughly ten minutes on Bitcoin.
  • Fair mining. KAWPOW rewards everyday graphics cards rather than expensive, specialized rigs.

Ravencoin Tokenomics and Supply

Only 21 billion RVN will ever exist, and the block reward is halved about every 4 years.

That ceiling is 1,000 times higher than Bitcoin’s 21 million coin limit. Most of the supply is already out there, which leaves a shrinking pool of new coins for miners to earn. Here is the halving schedule:

Halving

Approx. Date

Block Reward

Launch

January 2018

5,000 RVN

1st halving

January 2022

2,500 RVN

2nd halving

January 2026

1,250 RVN

3rd halving

Around 2030

625 RVN

Each cut means fewer new coins enter circulation every day.

How a Ravencoin Miner Earns RVN

A Ravencoin miner earns RVN by running a graphics card that races to solve proof-of-work puzzles, and the winner of each race collects the 1,250 RVN block reward.

The process is similar to mining Litecoin or Dogecoin, but it uses a different algorithm.

KAWPOW was built to keep ASICs, the custom chips that rule Bitcoin mining, at a disadvantage. That gives home miners like you a fair shot. Most people mine through a pool, which combines computing power and pays out smaller rewards more often. The August rollback also showed how much influence large pools have over the network.

How to Buy Ravencoin

You can buy Ravencoin in five steps on a major crypto exchange such as Binance, Gate, Bybit, OKX, or MEXC. Here is the process we recommend:

  1. Choose an exchange. Choose a well-known platform and ensure RVN is available in your state or country.
  2. Open and verify your account. Most platforms will ask for a photo ID.
  3. Fund your account. Deposit dollars or purchase USDT.
  4. Place your order. The RVN/USDT pair usually has the most trading activity.
  5. Secure your coins. Send your RVN to a wallet you control, such as Ledger, Trust Wallet, or the official Ravencoin wallet.

Before you buy Ravencoin, double-check that deposits and withdrawals are running. Network problems can pause them without much warning.

Ravencoin Price Prediction: What We Watch

We do not publish a Ravencoin price prediction, because no one can reliably forecast a small-cap coin.

You will find plenty of bold targets elsewhere. We would rather show you the signals that actually matter:

  • Network trust. How well the chain recovers from the August attack.
  • Exchange access. Whether big platforms keep RVN listed with transfers open.
  • Supply. How the slower post-halving issuance plays out.
  • Real use. How many new assets do people launch on the network?
  • The wider market. How closely does RVN follow Bitcoin’s direction?

Keep these signals in mind whenever you come across a Ravencoin price prediction.

Ravencoin Risks You Should Know

RVN comes with real risks, from past security failures to steep price swings.

We want you to go in with your eyes open. In 2020, developers revealed a bug that had allowed roughly 315 million unauthorized RVN to be created. This year’s consensus attack then forced a chain rollback. As a small-cap coin, RVN can also see sharp moves and thin trading.

Ravencoin Price FAQs

What Is the Ravencoin Price Today?

The Ravencoin price is $0.00235 USD as of September 29, 2026, at 10:58 a.m. ET, up 4.85% in 24 hours. That gives RVN a market cap of about $38.75 million. Prices change by the minute, so check our live widget and its “Last updated” time at the top of this page for the current rate.

Why Did the Ravencoin Price Drop in 2026?

The Ravencoin price dropped primarily due to the August 2026 consensus attack. After invalid blocks slipped through, miners reversed about three days of the chain, and several exchanges froze transfers. Confidence took a hit, and the price reached a record low in mid-September. General weakness in the crypto market added to the pressure.

What Is Ravencoin’s All-Time High?

Ravencoin’s all-time high is about $0.2852, set on February 20, 2021. RVN now sits roughly 99% below that mark. The peak came during the 2021 crypto boom. You can compare today’s price with the record in our stats table above.

How Many Ravencoin Coins Are There?

There are about 16.48 billion RVN in circulation, out of a fixed max supply of 21 billion. That leaves roughly 4.5 billion coins still to be mined. Since every halving slows new issuance, you can expect those remaining coins to arrive over many years.

When Is the Next Ravencoin Halving?

The next Ravencoin halving is expected around 2030, when the block reward drops from 1,250 to 625 RVN. Halvings occur roughly every 2.1 million blocks, or about once every four years. The latest one took place in January 2026.

Where Can You Buy Ravencoin?

You can buy Ravencoin on major exchanges such as Binance, Gate, Bybit, OKX, and MEXC. Most traders use the RVN/USDT pair. Before you fund an order, we recommend confirming that the platform serves your location and that RVN deposits are open.

Is Ravencoin Still Active?

Yes, Ravencoin is still active, and you can trade, mine, and send RVN today. Following the August exploit, miners reorganized the chain to remove the invalid blocks. A few exchanges may still restrict transfers, so we suggest checking your platform’s status page before you move coins.

Is Mining Ravencoin Still Worth It?

Mining Ravencoin can still be profitable, but only if you have cheap electricity and an efficient GPU. Your reward per block is now half of what it was before January 2026. We suggest running your setup through a mining calculator before you commit.
