Daily Mining Update: Gold, Copper, Uranium & Silver — Aug. 23, 2026

Mining news roundup for Aug. 23, 2026: The latest company and industry releases cover copper-gold exploration targets in British Columbia, high-grade gold-silver drilling, a new Canadian exchange listing, uranium financing, Nevada porphyry targeting, a regulatory suspension in Argentina and a gold-production restart in Australia.

Copper-gold exploration: NRED outlines stronger untested Wilmac targets

NRED Intelligent Mining (CSE: NRED; OTCQB: NREDF) reported an integrated review of three-dimensional induced-polarization data and 2023 trench sampling at its Wilmac Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia. The company said nine selective samples averaged 0.639% copper, with individual values of 1.235% and 1.670% copper. NRED also identified multiple untested geophysical responses that are stronger than the chargeability response associated with the surface trenches, including targets about 100 to 300 metres west and southwest. The company cautioned that the samples are selective, are not necessarily representative of the project and do not establish continuous grade, economic width or a mineral resource. Gold and silver: Westhaven extends Shovelnose mineralization

Westhaven Gold (TSX-V: WHN; OTCQB: WTHVF; FRA: 1W5) reported the fifth batch of assays from its 35,000-metre resource-infill program at the South Zone deposit on the Shovelnose property in southern British Columbia. Hole SNR26-117 returned 10.04 metres grading 12.18 grams per tonne gold and 103 grams per tonne silver below the deepest proposed stopes in the company’s 2025 preliminary economic assessment. Hole SNR26-110 returned 37.34 metres grading 6.24 grams per tonne gold and 55 grams per tonne silver at the deposit’s southeastern margin. Westhaven said 85 holes totaling 26,581 metres had been completed, representing about three-quarters of the planned program, and that further drilling is needed around both intercepts. Exchange news: Krait receives final CSE listing approval

Krait Critical Minerals said it received final approval to list its common shares on the Canadian Securities Exchange, with trading expected to begin at market open on Aug. 24 under the symbol KRIT. The company’s flagship Goldbar Spider Lake Project in Ontario covers 3,636 hectares, according to the release, and Krait holds an option to earn a 100% interest subject to a 3% net smelter return royalty. The listing announcement does not itself report exploration results or a mineral resource estimate. Read Krait’s release.

Uranium financing: Global Uranium holders elect debenture conversion

Global Uranium (CSE: GURN; OTC: GURFD; FRA: Q3J0) said holders elected to convert C$670,100 of principal and about C$6,426 of accrued interest from its unsecured convertible debentures. Based on a conversion price of C$0.26571 per unit, the company expects to issue 2,546,120 units, with each unit consisting of one common share and one warrant. The warrants will have a C$0.65 exercise price and a 24-month term, while the issuance remains subject to Canadian Securities Exchange acceptance. Read Global Uranium’s release.

Nevada exploration: Fairchild identifies five priority porphyry targets

Fairchild Gold (TSX-V: FAIR; OTCQB: FCHDF) said an independent geophysical interpretation at its Nevada Titan Project identified five priority exploration targets for further refinement before potential drill testing. The work combined geology, geochemistry, UAV magnetics, CSAMT resistivity, legacy induced-polarization data and regional gravity and magnetic information. Fairchild highlighted Targets 1 and 2 as the highest-priority areas for continued refinement. The update is a targeting milestone; it does not report new drill assays or establish a mineral resource. Argentina permitting: Patagonia Gold reports partial Calcatreu suspension

Patagonia Gold (TSXV: PGDC) said the Río Negro Secretariat of Labour ordered a preventive, partial and temporary suspension of certain operational activities at the Calcatreu Project after an Aug. 19 inspection. The company said it is assessing the scope of the measure and cooperating with provincial authorities. Essential maintenance, health and safety activities are continuing while the suspension remains in effect. Read Patagonia Gold’s release.

Australia production: Manuka restarts gold processing at Wonawinta

Manuka Resources (ASX: MKR) has recommenced gold production at its Wonawinta processing facility in New South Wales after a five-month recommissioning program, according to Mining.com.au’s report. The report says more than 50,000 tonnes of Mt Boppy gold ore grading about 1.10 grams per tonne gold were stockpiled at Wonawinta, and Manuka is targeting processing of 125,000 to 140,000 tonnes over the next three months. The company is also preparing for silver production targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to operational progress.
