Daily Mining Update for Aug. 22, 2026: Mining and natural-resource companies reported a lithium-operations restart in Brazil, a proposed U.S. silver-sector merger, a completed uranium acquisition, fresh uranium exploration results, new gold drilling and silver-concentrate sales. The items below are based on company and distribution-service releases published Aug. 20-21, 2026.
Lithium: Sigma Lithium says Brazilian operations are back online
Sigma Lithium (NASDAQ: SGML; TSXV: SGML) said its mining and industrial operations in Minas Gerais, Brazil, are fully back online after signing a Terms for Adjustment of Procedures agreement, or TAC, with the state. The company said sales of high-purity lithium fines and other intermediate-grade products continued during the partial suspension. Sigma said it expects to produce 240,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate within 12 months and 330,000 tonnes in fiscal 2027. The release also says the environmental-procedure adjustments are expected to require about US$1 million in capital expenditures and that the company agreed to pay up to US$540,000 in fines related to environmental matters dating from 2013 to 2022. These are company-stated targets and terms, and actual operations may differ. Read Sigma Lithium’s release.
Silver and critical minerals: Bunker Hill and Silver47 announce merger plan
Bunker Hill Mining (TSX: BNKR; OTCQB: BHLL) agreed to acquire Silver47 Exploration (TSXV: AGA; OTCQX: AAGAF; FSE: QP2) under a definitive arrangement agreement dated Aug. 20. Under the proposed court-approved plan, Silver47 shareholders would receive 0.1724 Bunker Hill shares for each Silver47 share. The companies said the transaction would combine Bunker Hill’s Idaho mine with Silver47’s U.S. silver-focused exploration and development projects in Alaska, Nevada and New Mexico. Closing remains subject to shareholder, exchange and court approvals; the parties said they anticipate completion shortly after meetings expected in November 2026. Read the merger announcement.
Uranium: Myriad completes Rush Rare Metals acquisition
Myriad Uranium (CSE: M; OTCQB: MYRUF; FSE: C3Q) said it completed its acquisition of 100% of Rush Rare Metals through a statutory plan of arrangement. Myriad issued 24,983,671 common shares to Rush shareholders, representing an exchange ratio of approximately 0.5405 Myriad shares for each Rush share; Rush is now a wholly owned subsidiary and its shares were delisted from the Canadian Securities Exchange. The transaction gives Myriad full ownership of the Copper Mountain Uranium Project in Wyoming, according to the release. Myriad also cautioned that historical estimates associated with Copper Mountain and other projects are not current mineral resources or reserves and are not being treated as such. Uranium exploration: Standard Uranium highlights Corvo results
Standard Uranium (TSXV: STND; OTCQB: STTDF; FSE: 9SU0) reported results from its first drill campaign at the Corvo Uranium Project near Wollaston Lake in northeastern Saskatchewan. The company completed 2,457 metres in nine reconnaissance holes after one of 10 planned holes was abandoned because of ground conditions. All nine completed holes contained anomalous uranium; the company highlighted 55 metres above 10 ppm uranium, 23 metres above 50 ppm and 13 metres above 100 ppm in partial-digestion results. The release says the intervals are drilled core lengths, true thicknesses have not been established, and the company is planning additional surface work, geophysics and a second-phase drill program for 2027. Gold: Goliath reports new Surebet drilling
Goliath Resources (TSX-V: GOT; OTCQX: GOTRF; FSE: B4IF) reported assays from its 100%-owned Golddigger Property in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. At the Surebet Zone, hole GD-26-436 returned 7.38 g/t gold equivalent over 35.7 metres, including 19.51 g/t gold equivalent over 8.32 metres. The release also reports gold-only intervals from neighbouring holes, including 11.42 g/t gold over 2.90 metres in hole GD-26-431. Goliath says reported widths are drill lengths, with true width estimated at 80%-90% of the reported length; it also says its gold-equivalent figures are for comparison and do not include metal-recovery factors. Silver: Silver Elephant reports Apuradita concentrate sales
Silver Elephant Mining (TSX: ELEF; OTCQB: SILEF; FSE: 1P2) said it produced and sold three silver-lead concentrate batches from the Apuradita project in Bolivia during 2026. Feed for the batches totaled 4,547 tonnes at a weighted average grade of 297 g/t silver and 0.9% lead; the resulting concentrates totaled 84.7 dry tonnes containing 24,538 ounces of silver and 20 tonnes of lead. The company reported approximate cash proceeds of US$1.4 million and an estimated 35% cash-flow margin, but emphasized that the figures are unaudited, do not represent IFRS revenue, and remain subject to final settlement and assays for the third batch. Production used a third-party toll mill, and the release says underground mining continues subject to operating conditions and material availability. Read Silver Elephant’s release.
Closing note: Exploration intervals, production targets, transaction terms and operating estimates can change as companies complete technical work, receive approvals, conduct further drilling or finalize assays and settlements.
