Highlights
- Gold extraction rates were confirmed to be largely insensitive to particle size, with only minor improvements noted from coarse to fine particles.
- Bulk column tests corroborated the modeled recoveries at run-of-mine (ROM) particle sizes, enhancing confidence in feasibility study predictions.
- Rapid leach kinetics were observed, with 90% of gold extraction achieved within 36 days.
- Reagent consumption rates aligned with commercial-scale expectations, supporting cost estimates.
- Permeability tests showed adequate solution percolation, ensuring heap stability.
The Phase 6 metallurgical test program was conducted at Kappes, Cassiday & Associates’ Reno laboratory and involved testing seven ROM-sized samples. These tests are crucial for confirming the economic viability of processing Black Pine ores through a ROM heap leach operation.
Liberty Gold’s President and CEO, Jon Gilligan, emphasized the importance of these tests in de-risking the project and optimizing the balance between mining costs and gold recoveries. The results provide confidence in the company’s low-cost ROM processing strategy.
