Tiffany Georgopoulos interviews Marc Bishop Lafleche, Chief Executive Officer of Ecora Royalties PLC, about mining royalties and why Ecora has built a critical minerals strategy with copper at the core.

Marc explains how Ecora evaluates counterparties, low-cost operations and mining jurisdictions, why diversification matters through commodity cycles, and how the royalty model can provide mining exposure without directly operating mines. He also discusses electricity demand, future commodity supply, capital allocation and Ecora’s transition from a legacy steelmaking coal royalty base toward a growing critical minerals platform.

Ecora currently reports 23 principal royalty and streaming-related assets across five continents and 11 commodities. Its HY 2026 results reported total portfolio contribution of $31.3 million, up 75 percent year over year, with base metals portfolio contribution of $22.5 million, up 159 percent.
