Daily mining update for August 12, 2026: Recent company releases and exchange announcements covered gold and copper drilling, lithium resource extensions, quarterly gold production, and a new potash-lithium-brine drilling program. The items below are presented as reported by the companies or their distribution and exchange sources.
P2 Gold reports gold-copper drilling at Gabbs in Nevada
P2 Gold (TSXV: PGLD; OTCQB: PGLDF) reported results from 10 reverse-circulation holes and four final diamond holes in the Lucky Strike Zone at its Gabbs Gold-Copper Project in Nevada. Hole GBR-118 returned 79.25 metres grading 0.78 g/t gold and 0.29% copper, including 21.34 metres at 1.28 g/t gold and 0.34% copper. Hole GBR-121 returned 67.06 metres at 0.78 g/t gold and 0.20% copper, including 42.67 metres at 1.07 g/t gold and 0.28% copper.
The company said the holes tested the higher-grade core and western margin of the Lucky Strike Zone. True thickness remains to be determined, and the release notes that some holes ended in mineralization or had no significant values.
Core Lithium extends high-grade BP33 mineralization
Core Lithium (ASX: CXO) reported new diamond-drill results from BP33 at its 100%-owned Finniss Lithium Operation in Australia’s Northern Territory. Hole NMRD100 intersected 34.08 metres at 2.09% Li2O from 578.70 metres, including 5.28 metres at 2.80% Li2O, as well as 3.43 metres at 2.44% Li2O from 616.54 metres.
Core said NMRD100 was designed to test potential extensions outside the existing BP33 Mineral Resource Estimate and confirmed continuity of high grades reported in an earlier hole. The release lists the BP33 resource at 10.5 million tonnes grading 1.53% Li2O and says underground development commenced in 2026.
Andina Copper expands the Cobrasco mineralized footprint
Andina Copper reported an intersection of 264 metres at 0.63% copper from 36 metres, within a broader 504-metre interval grading 0.48% copper. The company described the August 11 result as a further expansion of the mineralized footprint at its Cobrasco porphyry copper-molybdenum discovery in Colombia.
The announcement is an exploration result rather than a resource or reserve estimate. Additional drilling, assays, geological interpretation and technical work will be needed to determine how the reported interval affects project understanding.
Thor Explorations posts H1 gold and financial results
Thor Explorations (AIM: THX; TSXV: THX) reported 17,050 ounces of gold sold in the second quarter, with revenue of US$77.6 million, EBITDA of US$55.4 million and net profit of US$48.7 million. At the Segilola mine in Nigeria, Q2 gold poured totaled 19,153 ounces from 240,769 tonnes of ore processed at a 2.57 g/t Au mill-feed grade and 93.3% recovery.
Thor said first-half 2026 revenue, EBITDA and net profit set half-year records, while adjusted net cash was US$218.6 million at June 30. The interim financial statements were unaudited; the company also said it revised previously reported cash, adjusted net cash and bullion-inventory figures after reconciliation work during a consolidation-system transition.
Thunder Gold reports broad Tower Mountain gold interval
Thunder Gold (TSXV: TGOL; FSE: Z25; OTCQB: TGOLF) reported results from hole TM26-210 at the Bench Target on its 100%-owned Tower Mountain Property in Ontario. The hole returned 661.5 metres averaging 0.554 g/t gold, including a 24.0-metre interval at 1.815 g/t gold. The company said 516.0 metres of the reported interval falls inside the optimized pit shell used for its 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate, while 145.5 metres lies immediately below that shell.
Thunder Gold said the hole ended in mineralization and that the alteration system remains open down-dip. The release notes that the 2026 resource uses a 0.19 g/t Au cut-off grade and that mineral resources are not mineral reserves because they have not demonstrated economic viability.
American Critical Minerals mobilizes for Green River potash-lithium drilling
American Critical Minerals (CSE: KCLI; Frankfurt: 2P3; APCOF shown in the release) said it executed a drilling contract with Drake Well Service and began mobilizing a rig to the Green River Potash and Lithium Project in Utah. The planned Duma Point AP-S-02 well is intended to validate historic drill data and test Paradox Formation potash horizons and brine-bearing zones for lithium and bromine.
The company said drill-site preparation was complete, casing had been purchased and other subcontractors had been secured, with operations expected to commence shortly. The announcement describes the project as 100%-owned across its listed leases, claims and permits; drilling and brine sampling results remain pending.
Across these announcements, exploration results and operating updates point to continued activity in gold, copper, lithium and other critical minerals. Drill grades, feasibility figures and planned programs remain subject to technical verification, permitting, funding, commodity prices and operating execution.
