June 14, 2026 — Today’s Daily Mining Update looks at uranium land consolidation in Australia, fresh high-grade gold results in Quebec and South Dakota, and project momentum across copper and critical-mineral supply chains.
Orpheus Uranium expands its Lake Eyre Basin position
Orpheus Uranium entered a binding agreement to acquire seven exploration licences covering 2,513 square kilometres in South Australia’s Lake Eyre Basin. The company is targeting sedimentary roll-front uranium mineralisation, and historical work on the acquired tenure includes drillholes with more than 100 ppm equivalent uranium oxide and peak responses above 450 ppm equivalent uranium oxide. Troilus reports near-surface high-grade West Rim results
Troilus Mining reported additional drill results from the West Rim Zone at its Troilus copper-gold project in north-central Quebec. Highlights included hole WR-26-013, which returned 6.93 g/t gold equivalent over 18.5 metres, including 19.06 g/t gold equivalent over 6.4 metres, starting at 11.5 metres downhole. Dakota Gold reports Richmond Hill expansion drilling
Dakota Gold reported additional assay results from its 2026 drill campaign at the Richmond Hill Oxide Heap Leach Gold Project in South Dakota. Expansion hole RH26C-417 intersected 5.24 g/t gold and 4.43 g/t silver over 13.5 metres, while RH26C-418 intersected 3.33 g/t gold and 5.81 g/t silver over 20.9 metres. Read the Dakota Gold report.
West Red Lake Gold updates Rowan and Mount Jamie resources
West Red Lake Gold Mines reported an updated mineral resource estimate for the Rowan project and a maiden resource estimate for the nearby Mount Jamie deposit. The Rowan indicated resource increased to 334,825 ounces of gold at 13.03 g/t, while the Mount Jamie indicated resource was reported at 49,407 ounces grading 14.13 g/t gold. Copper and critical-mineral project activity remains active
CIM Magazine’s weekly recap highlighted Eldorado Gold producing first copper concentrate at the McIlvenna Bay project in Saskatchewan, with commercial production targeted for the third quarter of 2026. The recap also noted Rio Tinto’s autonomous electric blasthole drill pilot at Iron Ore Company of Canada, which the company said delivered productivity gains of more than 20% compared with manual drilling.
