Here are several notable mining and natural-resource company developments published over the past couple of days, spanning permitting, production updates, and exploration drilling.

Permitting & regulatory updates

  • Mount Polley tailings dam permit update (British Columbia): Imperial Metals reported that B.C.’s Environmental Assessment Office recommended approval for Mount Polley tailings dam construction to the 987-metre elevation (from 974m previously permitted), and that provincial ministers granted consent with corresponding permits issued.   • Province approves Copper Mountain mine expansion (British Columbia): The Government of British Columbia announced approval of the Copper Mountain mine expansion (Copper Mountain Mining Corp.) near Princeton, citing the project’s role in sustaining jobs and supporting the province’s critical minerals strategy.   • Imperial Metals: Mount Polley Q2 2026 production: In the same update, Imperial reported Q2 2026 production of 3.382 million pounds of copper and 6,848 ounces of gold at Mount Polley. Read release.

  • Fury Gold Mines: Eau Claire drilling: Fury reported an intercept of 7.0 g/t gold over 21.0 metres at the Eau Claire project and said it mobilized a third drill rig. Read release.
