Mining news roundup for Aug. 14–15, 2026: Publicly traded resource companies reported new copper drill results, an updated gold resource, uranium exploration expansion and financings. Koryx Copper reports wide Haib drill intercepts

Koryx Copper S.A. (TSX: KRY.V; NSX: KYX; OTCQB: KRYXF) reported assay results from 17 infill drill holes totaling more than 6,430 metres at its Haib Copper Project in southern Namibia. The company highlighted hole HM155 at 831 metres grading 0.27% copper equivalent, including 244 metres at 0.42% copper equivalent. It also reported its highest copper and silver grades at Haib to date in hole HMRC008, including 8.01% copper and 60.5 grams per tonne silver from 4 to 6 metres. Unigold lifts Candelones gold resource into updated estimate

Unigold Inc. (TSXV: UGD; OTC Pink: UGDIF; FSE: UGB1) announced an updated mineral resource estimate for the Candelones Project within its 100%-owned Neita Sur concession in the Dominican Republic. The estimate, effective Aug. 6, 2026, reported 69.1 million tonnes of measured and indicated resources averaging 1.03 grams per tonne gold and containing 2.291 million ounces of gold. The same measured and indicated category also contained 4.277 million ounces of silver and 131.943 million pounds of copper; the company reported an additional inferred category separately. Laramide expands into Swedish uranium exploration

Laramide Resources Ltd. (TSX: LAM; ASX: LAM; OTCQX: LMRXF) said it acquired a 100% interest in exploration licences in Sweden’s Hotagen and Arjeplog-Arvidsjaur uranium provinces. The Hotagen package includes two licences covering more than 1,700 hectares, while the Kaivaive 103 licence provides exposure to the Arjeplog-Arvidsjaur province. The stated consideration is $600,000, split between $300,000 in cash and $300,000 in shares represented by 503,216 common shares, with additional milestone payments tied to the delineation of 5 million and 10 million pounds of uranium resources. Canadian Uranium closes $3.0 million private placement

Canadian Uranium Corp. (CSE: CANU) said it closed a non-brokered private placement consisting of 2,000,150 non-flow-through units priced at $1.00 per unit for gross proceeds of $2,000,150, plus 833,000 flow-through units priced at $1.20 per unit for gross proceeds of $999,600. The company said proceeds will support exploration at its Rook 2 and King South projects and working capital, with the flow-through proceeds directed to eligible Canadian exploration expenses. Star Diamond keeps Fort à la Corne project in evaluation

Star Diamond Corporation (TSX: DIAM) reported financial and operating results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2026. The company said its Star–Orion South Diamond Project in Saskatchewan remained under care and maintenance while its technical team continued investigation and evaluation work, including a pre-feasibility study. Star Diamond reported a second-quarter net loss of C$982,000 and stated that it held C$58,000 in cash and cash equivalents at June 30, with additional financing needed to fund expenses and the study.
